Monthly Empties: March 2016 Reviews

Hello there April! How on earth did you get here?! No, seriously, how is it April?

Today, as it's already nearly the middle of another month, I am bringing you details of the products I've used up during March, with little reviews of each.

I have managed to get through quite a big stash during March as I've been making a particular effort to get to some of my waiting products. So, happy reading!

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter and Shower Cream

First up are these products from The Body Shop. I've been using these forever! They last so long, and I've been quite honestly trying to get rid of them to make room to use some other bits. I really like pretty much everything from The Body Shop though and would definitely repurchase from the Cocoa Butter range. I actually have another full bottle of the Shower Cream to go at, but won't be starting that for a while.

Fearne Cotton Body Care Products - 2 x Body Butter, 2 x Body Wash, 1 x Body Polish

These lovely little minis have been in my possession for a long time too - they came from Fearne Cotton's Christmas gift range for 2014! I bought myself a gift set in the sales in Jan 2015, and then received another as a gift for my birthday in Feb 2015.  Fearne didn't have a range last Christmas, which I thought was a shame. I adore her, so anything with her name on it is good for me!

Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Makeup Remover

I'm already on my second bottle of this, and I love it. I've always been a fan of Simple skincare, and I've never not liked one of their products. This does a brilliant job of removing all my eye makeup, even tough mascaras, and it is nice and gentle on my eyes. I wear contact lenses and find this doesn't cause irritation.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

This toner was really nice, I can't really say a lot more than that! It feels nice on the skin and it removes all the makeup that doesn't come off with my first swipe of a cleanser.

The Body Shop Black Musk Eau De Parfum

I'm not even going to try and describe a perfume, who can actually describe smells?! I have another bottle of this lined up which my mum got me for Christmas, so you can tell I like it.

Got2B All Star 10-in-1 Styling Treatment

This hair product came in one of my first Glossyboxes. I've found it stocked in Boots and Superdrug. I'm not big on hair styling products really, I never really notice that they make that much difference. I used all this up - applying it on wet hair before drying. I think it did make my hair smoother and kept frizz at bay, but I probably wouldn't buy it as I don't really know what it does!

Sass Intimate Purifying Cleanser

Now, time to rave about a product. I first received this product in a Glossybox and I've also had a couple now in my Pink Parcel.

Before I found this product, I was dismissive of feminine hygiene products - I really didn't see the need for a particular separate soap just to clean...that area! I know, I know, the PH levels down there are different and strongly scented soaps can cause irritation, etc. etc. But I've been managing for approx 29 years without needing anything specific.

Anywho, when I received this cleanser in my Glossybox, I thought I may as well use it. I was genuinely surprised by how much I like it.

I'm sure I could continue to live without it, but I am more than happy to keep using it when it arrives in my Pink Parcels. I'd even buy it! Sass products are stocked in Boots.

Charlie Shimmer Body Fragrance

This is the last bottle from my little gift set of Charlie fragrances; I think this was my favourite scent of them all.

Benefit Bella Bamba Blusher

This is a gorgeous blusher; it's just my kind of pink but also has a hint of bronze shimmer in it. It's really nice with a tan. I hadn't quite used it all but the blusher was starting to crumble and was getting messy to use, so I put it to rest.

Benefit Ooh La Lift and High Beam

I was left underwhelmed by Ooh La Lift; I definitely wouldn't buy the full priced version. It didn't really seem to do anything with my under-eyes.

High Beam however, I really like. I've had a full sized one before; it was one of the first highlighters I used.

Emite Makeup Diamond Heart Primer

This was a Glossy Box item; it was a really nice, bright primer. It had a little shimmer in it, but it wasn't overpowering under foundation. It didn't really give any lasting power for my makeup but it gave a nice 'glow' to my skin. I wouldn't go to the effort of buying it (I think it is only online) but I enjoyed using it.

Rimmel Eyeliner in Nude

I've had umpteen of these, this one wasn't quite finished but the 'lead' had broken and kept slipping out of the pencil. It was annoying so I bought another! I love to use this to line my waterline.

No. 7 Dramatic Lift Mascara

I wasn't keen on this. The brush was awkward to use, the mascara was quite 'clogged' in the bristles so it smudged quite a bit when I applied it. The mascara itself was a very dry formula, and I noticed no lift whatsoever!

The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara

This mascara, I did like. The formula and brush were good and the mascara looked nice once applied. I don't think it particularly gave 'super volume' but I would repurchase.

And that's it! Those were my used up products for March. Some I would buy again for certain, and others that I wasn't so bothered about. I'll be back again in a month to talk about what I've been using up during April. Let me know what you've been loving this month.

P.S. I might not be around much during April and May -

April is a mega busy month for me at work,
and then in May I have my honeymoon!

I'm going to try and blog if I can,
but don't want to put pressure on myself,
so will see how it goes.

Thanks for bearing with me!

Love, Siobhan
