#GothUpForSophie - Goth Makeup for a Good Cause

In August 2007, a young woman named Sophie Lancaster, and her boyfriend, were brutally attacked simply for looking 'different'. Sophie later died from the injuries she sustained.

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was set up in her memory, and make up brand Illamasqua have long been supporters of this cause. On the 10th anniversary of Sophie's death, Illamasqua encouraged its fans to show support for the foundation and the cause, by 'gothing up' in Sophie's memory.

You can read more about this in Illamasqua's blog here.

When I found out about this, I decided to give it ago, both because I believe strongly in every human's right to choose how they look, and because I thought it would be fun to get out of my comfort zone and try a completely different look for me.

The results of my experiment are below. I absolutely loved this look, and I have to say this dark, vampy look gave me quite the feeling of empowerment!

I can't remember everything I used by I know for certain I picked up the following:

Makeup Revolution Ultra Eye Contour - Light and Shade - Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Naked Heat - Eyeshadow Palette
Makeup Geek Single Eyeshadow in the shade "Simply Marlena"
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black
Lancome Hypnose Volume-A-Porter Mascara in Black
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Rubino" and "Bacca"
